Fred L. Geschwender created the Aeromotive Inc. in Nebraska to adapt Ford V4, V6 and V8 engines to aviation, especially for amateur constructors of WWI and WWII model replicas.

“Ford 225”

-The modifications include a reduction by high-speed chain to transmit the crankshaft output to the propeller shaft.

-It is offered with several ratios.

-Some versions of the Ford were:

-A V-8 with 289 cu. in.of displacement giving 225 hp.

-The 302 cu. in. engine giving 235 hp. The one with 351 cu. in. gave 350 hp.

-The 360 hp had 400 cu. in. of displacement and the one with 460 cu. in. gave 450 hp normally aspirated, reaching 600 hp if it was supercharged.

From Appendix 9: (also as Geschenwender, sometimes) Specialized in adapting Ford V engines for use in aviation. Recently the Ford 460 from the famous Cobra Jet has appeared.
