Built by Dean Mfg. Newport Co. in Kentucky.
-In fact it was Fox Airplane that ordered Dean Mfg. to produce the material, and during 1911 and 1912 several water-cooled two-stroke engines were made.
-They had upright cylinders, and there were three, four, six, and eight cylinder engines with variants.
-One of four cylinders gave 36 HP at 2,000 rpm and was the smallest in size.
-They were called "Aero Motor" and the model shown below was called "De Luxe".
-The 3-cylinder engine gave 45 HP.
-The four-cylinder gave 60 HP and the six-cylinder, 90 HP.
-All these engines had the same cylinder size.
"Fox four-cylinder"
-The one in the illustration, called DeLuxe delivered 50 / 60 HP at 1,200-1,300 rpm.
-It is mentioned that an 8-cylinder reached 200 HP.
From Appendix 10: The below illustration is from 1911. It is the Fox De Luxe four-cylinder, two-stroke, water-cooled engine. This photograph includes the rear radiator.
