Enrico Forlanini was an inventor of a steam-driven helicopter. Without crew and as a test, it had a rotor of 2.80 meters weighing little more than 3.5 kg, of which the motor weighed 1.6 kg. of which 1 kg was water.
"Enrico Forlanini -1948-1930"
-The tests of his machine were made in 1877, in Alexandria, near Milan.
"Steam engine"
-As we see the engine had two cylinders on both sides of a frame.
-The first test on June 29 was unsuccessful, although a little later it rose 13 meters. IF made its V-1 engine for the 2nd airship.
From Appendix 9: Italian pioneer, Enrico Forlanini already made a flying machine (helicopter type, see main text) around 1877. Steam engines with two V-cylinders and with horizontally-opposed cylinders in 1884.
-Finally, thinking about the use on an airship, in 1905, he presented another two-cylinder engine, running on steam.
-It is exhibited in the Museum of Science in Milan (Deposit of the collection of the Soc. Leonardo da Vinci)

"Possible boiler designed for Forlanini's 2V engine"
-Quick steam boiler with destination to a possible airship in the year 1905. It is exposed in the same museum in deposit of the same company of the previous engine.
From Appendix 12: In the museum of science and technology "Leonardo da Vinci" in Milan, a boiler, designed by Enrico Forlanini in 1877, is exhibited to produce steam for the airship that he designed as well.
