Subaru based engines, developed by Jan Eggenfellner around 1993.

-They are Four- and six-cylinder engines with gear and certainly powerful.

-These engines were water cooled, had fuel injection and were adaptable with fixed or variable pitch propellers. There are versions with turbocharger.

-The 2.5 with simple camshaft on cylinder heads gave 175 hp at 5,200 rpm. It was certainly a Subaru of previous technology and adapted by Jan.

-The 2'5 XT delivered 190 hp at 5,200 rpm. It had all the aforementioned accessories. With supercharger it gave 200 hp.

-The six-cylinder was the H-6-3.0 model that gave 195 hp.

-It has a double overhead camshaft (DOHC), 24 valves in total, and electronically controlled ignition with a high coil in each cylinder.

-To be installed in the Lancair 360, a high performance homemade airplane.

-NOTE: QECA is in the maintenance jargon "Quick Engine Change Assembly". Sometimes it includes the cowling.

-Eggenfellner uses the Subaru RV-6, -7, -8 and -9. For example, in the side view of the previous RV-9 engine we distinguish its characteristic rocker covers.

To carry out the conversions with these and other engines, they use an Eggenfellner gearbox. They are compact and have various reduction ratios.

-The one shown below is coupled directly on the power take-off (PTO) of each engine.

-That is, on the crankshaft, either at the end of the flying wheel or at the front. Now we have an exterior photo and another without the upper cover.
