Efesto builds an interesting electric motor to be coupled to 912 and 914 type Rotax boxer engines.

-For the moment it is installed on CFM's light aircraft, the "Dardo".

-When the electric motor is installed on a Rotax, the installation is transformed into a "Hybrid" power plant and as such it is known by the acronym HPS or "Hybrid Propulsion System".

-The electric motor is sandwiched between the gearbox and the propeller. It is a project involving the Israeli companies Ashot and Ashkelon in addition to the two Italians mentioned above.

-There are other advantages through the use of this system:

-The power can be increased at takeoff when both plants (thermal and electric motor) run in the same direction.

-The power can be reduced when landing if they do the opposite, when they are subtracted.

-The electric motor can work as an alternator to charge the battery, and also as a starter motor for the main engine.
