Manufacturer Loch Laird Engineering Pty. Ltd, has built this twin-cylinder engine known as Dirk 2-500a, a four-stroke engine for ultralight.

-It has two horizontally-opposed cylinders on an electron block that, by their appearance, look like those of the larger radial engines.

-The engine displaces 514 cc and gives 36 hp of continuous power at 5,200 rpm. and 41 hp at 6,400 rpm, weighing 43 Kgs. (depending on data received). It has double ignition.

-There is a possibility to install gear and also an IHI turbocharger. In this case, the power rises to 57 hp and this is maintained at high altitudes.
