Coventry Victor Motor Company was engaged in manufacturing horizontally-opposed cylinder engines since 1911 for multiple applications.
-These engines had relative low power, between 2 and 50 hp, with 2 to 8 cylinders.

-Between 1924 and 1926 they built the 2-cylinder OHV model IV that gave 20 hp, and between 1925 and 1927 came out the Neptune I giving 40-45 hp with simple ignition.
-They made Neptune II and III. We are interested in the Flying Neptune that gave 55 hp at 3,200 rpm and had dual ignition.
-Seen in the French Druine, in the Turbulent and in the Piper L4C.
-The Neptune was in the liter and a half of displacement category.
-It had four horizontally opposed cylinders as we can see in the illustration below.
"Coventry Victor, Flying Neptune"
From Appendix 6: The Flying Neptune is from 1923, the year in which they presented the two-cylinder horizontally opposed engine for Light aviation.
"Coventry Victor Twin Flat"
-It gave about 20 hp with 699 cc of total displacement.
-Below we show a picture of a located Coventry-Victor "Gnat" that was intended for light aviation as well. It was built in 1924 and delivered 38 BHP.
"Coventry-Victor Gnat"
-This company is Coventry Victor Motor Co. Ltd. (Located in Coventry just like Coventry Climax, but they are different companies).
-We have already seen the use of air-cooled aviation engines of this brand.
-In the constant pursuit of engines we have stumbled upon a water-cooled version of the Victor Cub.
-There were two versions, the normal Victor Cub giving 10-17 hp and the Senior Victor Cub giving 12-20 hp. Both with horizontally-opposed cylinders.
"It is difficult to distinguish that it is an engine"
