Coventry Climax Ltd. was founded in 1903, in Coventry by former English Daimler engineer, Pulham Lee. He built engines for light cars, and fire-fighting pump groups.

-During WWII he obtained the license to build American Continental aero engines. Later he continued with airport land equipment and marine engines.

From Appendix 6: As stated in the main text they obtained the license to manufacture the American Continental engines.

-The initially chosen models were the A-50, A-65 and A-75. Thereafter they built the A-40 and A-85, around 1940.

-The company is Coventry Climax Engines Ltd (It has nothing to do with Coventry Victor).

-We located an engine in an advertisement of the time.

-But analyzing the engine in the photograph and comparing it with its original American one, we have a different carburetor -it has an injection system-, the covers of the rocker boxes have a different design, and the most paradoxical thing is that the exhaust is produced in the upper part of the cylinders.
