Towards 1957, this Spanish company made engines with horizontally-opposed cylinders for light aviation that only remained prototypes.

-The two-cylinder that gave 18 CV was destined to motor-gliders

-The 35 CV, 4-cylinder was for small single-seaters.

-The 55 CV, 6-cylinder was for two-seaters.

From appendix 9: Enrique Corbella made three horizontally-opposed engines, the ECA-02 two-cylinder giving 18 HP, the ECA-04 four-cylinder giving 35 CV and the ECA-06 six-cylinder giving 55 CV.

-In the photo we see Aerodiffusion test pilot Laureano Ruiz, and aircraft factory promoter Pedro Fernandez together with Corbella in front of his ECA-04 engine mounted on a Druine Turbulent made by the company in Santander, in 1956.

-The Corbella engines were made in ENHASA. National propeller factory.

-Engineer Enrique Corbella projected at least four viable engines.

-Two of these were automotive engines, with two and three cylinders. The ECA-2L and ECA 3L that were two-stroke engines.

-In the photo above we see the 2L with clutch and gearbox. The manufacturing rights of these engines were acquired by DIAGSA. Maybe also those of the two aero engines. This was in the 1950s.

-He made the two-cylinder ECA-02 that was designed to be used for the propulsion of motorboats or ultra-light aircraft such as Lacroix's "Autoplan".

-It had two horizontally-opposed cylinders.

-The maximum power was 20 CV at a maximum rotation speed of 4000 rpm. Without propeller or hub it weighed about 23 kg.

-The ECA-04 was especially suitable for single-seat light aircraft such as "Turbulent", Jodel "Baby", or "Stratoplan".

-It had four horizontally-opposed cylinders, (see photo above) with a maximum power of 40 CV at 4,000 rpm maximum as well. The weight was about 46 Kg without hub or propeller.
