Just as the French of that time liked to say: "moteurs a huile lourde" (heavy oil engines) instead of Diesel, referring to this type of engines that they made.
-Hispano Suiza made the 9- and 14-cylinder, radial Diesel Clergets that delivered 400 and 600 CV. They were built under license.
-As we saw in Clerget, it had direct injection, and was built under the same technique, as it belonged to the same family.

-As an original feature of the 9T, during the landing it could reverse the propeller rotation by a lever, so the run on the landing strip was shorter.
"Clerget Hispano-Suiza 9T drawing"
-In the 9T drawing we see that the rocker-rod controls are at the front.
-Still further to the font are the injection pumps and the ducts that rise towards the cylinder heads.
"Clerget - Hispano Suiza 14U"
-The same counts for the 14U, but with fourteen individual injection pumps in front of the valve distribution.
-The high pressure ducts leading to front and rear row form a curious tangle of tubes.
