The "CGL" office was mounted by three engineers. The principal was E. Gadoux of Hispano Suiza on a private level, and in 1942 they initiated the activity for developing powerful engines.

-The proposals were varied and interesting, from 8,500 CV engines with all the accessories of the time like supercharging, 4 valves per cylinder, etc.

-The 20-cylinder engine with sliding sleeves that gave 4,000 CV was known as Model 600.

-However, the 2-stroke engine with 30 squashed cylinders shown in the image above is the most interesting because of the flattened shape of the pistons, which made it an engine with a smaller diameter.

-It had 6 rows of 5 facing cylinders to use a common camshaft for the intake valves on the six cylinder rows.

-The exhaust flow went through ports at the BDC.

-It had gear and two contra-rotating propellers. The engine was proposed for 5,000 CV, but there is no evidence of tests, or applications, or that it physically existed.
