CFE has been a company formed by Garrett and GE in 1987 to develop and build the CFE-738 engine in the range from 6,000 to 7,000 lbf.

-This turbofan is intended for large business jets, VIPs and  regional aircraft. (It was the older brother of Garrett TFE-731)

-It has two shafts (HP and LP) and it has a by-pass at a 5.3 to 1 ratio.
