Baynes absorbed Carden after the accident suffered by its owner. Carden-Baynes continued with the water-cooled Ford-C that gave 40 hp at 3,000 rpm.

-Two Carden-Baynes 4-cylinder engines were mounted on the Baynes two-seater glider, with 40 hp each. The propellers were pushers.

From Appendix 10: In the main text we see that Carden-Baynes couples Ford engines to their airplanes, but now we have located some examples that indicate the variety of engines that are used. First the 2-stroke Villiers motorcycle engine that gave 9 hp at 3,500 rpm.
