In the early twentieth century Canovetti has achieved an engine for airships able to combine the highest lightness, great operation simplicity of operation and the absence of vibrations.

-This is a gasoline internal combustion engine (very volatile light gasoline) without transmission shaft. It is only used as a generator of hot gases under pressure and is like a volumetric compressor.

-Canovetti efficiently uses the gas jet through the exhaust pipe driving a turbine that transmits rotary power to a propeller: Italy's first turboprop engine and perhaps the world's.
