Manufacturer "David Budworth Ltd." started to manufacture turbines in 1952. First auxiliary turbines and then a small one known as "Puffin" that delivered 180 lbs. of thrust.
"Puffin"
-First they thought of using it as an air compressor, but its configuration went changing into a turbojet.
-Another Budworth engine was the 60 hp, which was used in auxiliary pumps or electric generator units, It runs at 45,000 rpm.
"Budworth auxiliar turbine"
-The 60 hp engine had a centrifugal compressor, annular chamber, fuel inlet through vaporizers, and "inflow" or centripetal type turbine. It was geared at a 15-1 ratio.
From Appendix 6: David Budworth Ltd was located in Essex. Known as Budworth Turbines, they made other models besides the "Puffin" that is mentioned in the main text. We discovered that recently.

-The Puffin is offered as pure turbojet and as turbofan, with power outputs between 250 and 500 lbs. of thrust.
"Turbo-compressor"
-It was also available as an air generator with a power output of up to 300 hp.
-Budworth has made turbine fans and ACV blowers.
-But another achievement is the almost unknown Blowfly turboprop or turboshaft for general aviation with a power output from 200 to 300 hp.
"Budworth Blowfly"
-And there was also a Double or Coupled version with a gearbox that included a clutch to isolate a possible dead engine.
"Budworth Double Blowfly"
-And its version for auxiliary power supply.
"Budworth Blowfly APP"
-Cross section of one of the brand's auxiliary turbines.
