"Brownback Motor Laboratories" in New York was the  license dealer for building Anzani engines in the US. They also manufactured aluminum OX-5 parts for Curtiss-Wright.

-It is known that Brownback built its own engines known by the name of "Tiger". They were made between 1928 and 1939.

-The Tiger Junior 50 was a horizontally opposed, four-cylinder, two-stroke engine. It had dual ignition and gear. It delivered 50 hp at 1,600 propeller rpm.

-The Tiger 100 was a 6 cylinder, two-row, radial engine, and was somewhat heavy for its power: 90 hp to 278 lbs.

-The first engine was fitted on the Taylor-Cub prototype, which later became the famous Piper-Cub.

-It is known that there existed a 3-cylinder Brownback "Bumble Bee" radial, which gave 20 hp. They were built at the Brownback Motor Laboratories. It had a derivative, D-3.

-The other engine was the Tiger C400. But actually it was the Tiger 100. One reference is the model and the other the power that was intended for it.

-We include new graphic illustrations for the Brownback engines, which were also manufactured by the Light Manufacturing and Foundry Co.

-The Tiger was a six-cylinder radial, from which they derived the C-400, the Tiger 100 and Tiger 125.

-When collecting documentation of this brand at the MAE, I would assume that the Tiger 100 and the C400 are the same, or a very similar derivative as the illustrations that I used in the main text are confusing the present ones.

-Both engines give 100 hp. The next picture belongs to an Brownback ad where this 6-cylinder radial engine is announced as model C-400.
