Anatoly Alekseyevich Bessonov graduated in 1915 and in 1923 was already in the factory Ikar "sovietizing" the American Liberty engine that they called model M-5.
-His M-12 was a V-12 that gave 700 CV. He also made the M-15, M-26 and M-27.
-Then he took part of it and in 1927 he designed the M-18, a 1,050 CV, 18-cylinder W engine.
-The FED-24 from 1935, was a X.24 with 24 cylindes in X and delivered 1,000 CV.
-The 220 CV M-26 was installed in the experimental TsAG.1 A-4 autogyro.
-He also designed a small engine with 4 inverted cylinders that gave 145 hp: the MG-40.
-There was another one with 6 inverted cylinders giving 300 CV, the MM-1. And finally the M-300 from 1941 that had 36 cylinders giving 3000 CV.
-Designer A. Bessonov is attributed at least three engines with the name Kertis, during his stay at Ikar GAZ 2.
-Others, with the letter M-, were also made under his management as chief designer.
-The Kertis I was a 6-cylinder inline engine, from 1925-26 using parts from the V-12 and W-18, which they built at the same time. It delivered 260 CV.
-The Kertis V, was a V-12 that gave 450/610 CV. It was used as base for the 525/600 CV M-19 and the 600/650 CV M-19a.

-The creation of an inline, V and W engine family, was done with the idea of unifying three engines with interchangeable components.
"Kertis W"
-The Kertis W, was a 18-cylinder W engine that gave 670 at 800 CV according to the version, although it is not known if it had any applications, perhaps it did not pass the trial stage.
-From the W-18 they made the M-14, M-18 and the M-27. from the latter M-27 they made various versions, with supercharger, gear, both supercharger and gear, etc. The GM-27 was the marine version.
-A two-stroke Bessonov M-7 (AB-20) had two cylinders and gave 15 CV.
