The "Basse und Selve" factory was based in Altena, Westfalen. It started with a 120/145 hp model according to the revolutions.

-A later model was the 270 CV engine. They were six-cylinder, inline engines, with overhead camshaft and individual cylinders. There were two carburetors feeding a unique intake manifold.

-The 300 CV engine came out during WWI. According to Jane ́s, the one that they mention in an old yearbook, is the only one of the brand's engines that is left. The front cylinder is damaged as it was shot down.

-At the "Politecnico di Torino" they have another Bassé und Selve 300 CV at their disposal in their aviation engine exhibition.

-As mentioned, from the engines that left the Altena factory one of them is exhibited at the Polito, (Politecnico di Torino).

-Interestingly, in the nameplate shows a power of 302 hp at 1405 rpm. We also see they were better known as Selve than Basse & Selve, which appears at the bottom of the plate.
