This company along with the Mercedes-Benz-Technology GmbH (MBtech) in Germany, mainly, are developing an experimental 170 hp Turbo-Diesel engine that has already been tested in the Diamond DA40.
"DA40 with the new engine"
-We clearly see part of the gearbox and the inter-cooler intake circuit.
-The AE 300 engine, which has a displacement of 1991 cm3 and delivers 165.6 hp, has flown in the Diamond DA50 aircraft.
"Austro Engine AE300"
-It has mechanically gear, and torsional vibration damping.
-From appendix 6; Austro Motor GmbH. (in German) and Austro Engine (in English), are the same company.
-The AE GN 300 Diesel engine has been officially approved in 2008 by AESA, The European aeronautical authority (equivalent to the North American FAA).
"Austro Motor AE 300"
-There are a number of Wankel type rotary piston engines of small and medium power, which we assume to continue evolving. Like the AE50R and IAE-75R engines.
-This brand's rotary piston engine, which gives 50 hp and is used for motor gliders, is not mentioned in the main text.
"Rotary Austro Engine"
-Inr 2008-9, the AE-300 170 hp engine has been certified by EASA. This Diesel engine, which runs on Jet A1 fuel, does appear in the main text.
"Austro's rotary engine, without gear"
Note from the author: -The author has read in an article that Exxon Oil ignores that turbine fuel Jet A-1 can be used in Diesel aviation engines, generally of all brands. They argue that there are several problems that are not solved by this fuel, like lubrication of the injection pump, cetane index, etc.
-The altitude and the vapor locks that are created can stop the engine if the fuel is not of Avgas quality, and has no sufficient surface pressure.
-A new photograph of the IAE-75R rotary piston engine.
"The new Austro Engine IAE75R"
-In 2011 the news of this brand is the adoption of a Steyr engine, also Austrian. It is the six-cylinder, in line, Diesel M1 engine.
-Both collaborate in the development of an aeronautical engine to reach 280 hp and that is intended for the Diamond Da-50 aircraft.
"The Steyr M1 engine"
-From appendix 10: Austro Engines in cooperation with TEOS (ver) manufactures the AE440 engine. A turbo charged V-8 engine that uses Kerosene, has direct injection and delivers 330 kW.
-We have a new picture of the AE50R engine.
"The dynamic balance counterweight is well visible"
-(The author makes an easy comparison with the counterweight of automatic wristwatches).
