This company is also known as the "USA Air Services" or better the "USA Engineering Division Air Services" (see both).
-Some products this division has tested, were the W-1, W-1A and W-2 engines. (see main text in the former links). Now we have new pictures.
“Two views of the W-1”
-The double V (W) indicates that when we look at the cylinder banks from the front, they form the letter W, with three rows of six cylinders in this case.
-Certain information tells us that the W-1As were built at Packard. And you can still see a survivor in the Old Wright Field Museum.
-They were built in the 1930's. The photograph shows production number 42 of that time.
