Known by the name of Ansaldo S. Giorgio, Turin, they built their engines in the Cantieri Ansaldo Aeronautici.
"Logo"
-Ansaldo was already famous for their shipyards before entering in aircraft and engine construction.
-The 6-cylinder, upright, in-line engines, were liquid cooled, and they delivered considerable power for the cylinders they had.
-There also were V12 engines. curiously all references start with 4E-.
-In WWI there were engines from the SPA company, 6-A model and around 1917 they began with their own designs like the 4E-14, six-cylinder engine that gave 310 hp at 1,700 rpm.
"Ansaldo 4E-15"
-The 4E-15 gave 325 CV with 6 cylinders and the 4E-28 with 12 cylinders delivered 450 CV and was mounted in the Macchi M-12.
-The 4E-29 gave 500 CV but with twelve cylinders in V. It could give 550 hp at 1,650 rpm. This engine was installed in seaplanes like the Savoia-19. (Year 1920).
-The 4E-145 was an in-line 6-cylinder again and gave 300 CV, but with 290 CV at 1,650 rpm and 310 CV at 1,800 rpm as maximum speed. It had two Zenith carburetors.

-The 4E-150 with 6 upright inline cylinders gave 300 CV at 1,700 rpm.
"Ansaldo 4E-150"
-The 4E-284 started with 420 CV. It was derived from the 4E-28, with 12 cylinders under an angle of 60° and 2,082 cubic inches of displacement.
"Ansaldo 4E-284"
-The 4E-284 power was developing up to 520 CV at 1,650 rpm (570 CV at 1,800 rpm). It had individual cylinders.
-These cylinders had two intake valves and two exhaust valves.

"Ansaldo logo in relief"
-The Ansaldo 4E-29 engine is an extended version of the 4E-284 engine with almost 100 CV more, 550 CV with 12 cylinders in V as well.
"Ansaldso 4E-29"
The 4E-29 engine in this picture, is the same engine that appears in the main text.
-Another Ansaldo San Giorgio logo, but with bases in Turin and Genoa.
"Giorgio-Ansaldo logo"
-As we can see it includes a propeller. In the center of the "A" there is a visible wheel and also some lightning rays that indicate its electrical side as well.
From appendix 6: A new Ansaldo, not described in the main text, gives 220 CV at 1,600 rpm with 6 cylinders inline, overhead valves and integral aluminum alloy crankcase.
"Ansaldo engine with its characteristic radiator"
-This engine was installed in an Italian aircraft of the same brand, the SVA.5 that was to participate in the First World War. From the year 1916.
-This engine is exhibited in the Automobile Museum of Polytechnic Institute (Museo del Automóvil del Instituto Politécnico Superior) of Rosario, Argentina. It was donated by the Ministry of War.
