ACE - Advanced Component Engineering
(USA)
Advanced Component Engineering is best known for their adaptation of the Lycoming O-540 engines on the AC-548 "EFii Conversion Rocks"
"Lycoming ACE , AC-548"
-We see at first glance that the aluminum cylinders are integral, that is, not just the cylinder heads.
-The original Lycoming cylinders are mixed, ie the cylinder with its own fins of steel and the head of threaded aluminum cast.
-The formula resembles that of Franklin-Aircooled General Aviation engines. There may also be other solutions offered by this version of ACE.
"Engine on ACE-Higgs test bench"
-A current leader of the company, Andy Higgs, brings his experience in a new line of engines running on Diesel and Jet-A1 fuel. The system is already being tested on the bench with the new 2-stroke cylinders.
"ACE-Higgs E-1000"
-The first models that are being prepared are the E-1000 giving 1000 HP aimed at competing with the PT-6s that have an extremely superior consumption.
-The other engine in this line is the E-300 with a displacement of 1'5 Lts. This is also a four-stroke engine with the same architecture as the E-1000 and it has 4 cylinders in V.
"ACE-Higgs two-stroke V-4 engine"
-Complementary information in the "Higgs" chapter.
