The Socièté Nationale de Construction de Moteurs was founded by the French state in the late 1930s, bringing together Lorraine and Potez at the outset.
-Later, after WWII, it would be Snecma together with the rest of the important French brands, except for very few like Hispano Suiza, although later they would join too.

From Appendix 9: SNCM was the result of the initial merger of Potez and Lorraine, after WWII.
-That is why the following photograph belongs to this new period of Lorraine. It is a Sterna engine, already known as SNCM-Sterna.
