Trouvé was the manufacturer of the electric motor for the airship that the Tissandier brothers flew in 1883.

In 1881, brothers Gaston and Albert Tissandier presented their model of an airship with a propeller driven by an electric motor at the Electricity Exhibition at the Palais d'Industrie in Paris.

The nacelle contained a Tatin propeller, Trouvé's electric motor, and a 24-cell potassium dichromate battery from Planté. The entire assembly was designed by brothers Albert and Gaston.
