Egidio Taveggia from Lambrate, Milan, built some small-displacement engines
-He made an opposed-cylinder, 4-stroke engine known as “Moscone”.
-it had a displacement of 996 cc, was air-cooled and gave 24 HP at 3,000 rpm. (18 HP at 2,400 rpm, consuming 5.5 l per hour).
-It weighed 50 Kg.
-He also made a 2-stroke engine with two inverted cylinders, air-cooled and with 600 cc of displacement.
-It had double ignition and reduction gear from 2.5 to 1.
-It had two magnetos on top of the reduction gear shaft that had the gears in the center of the engine.
-Its weight was 39 Kg.
“Taveggia 2-stroke engine”
-Both engines were tested on one of the Mignet “Pou-du-Ciel”, built in Italy. As well as other aircraft such as the Cornetti C3.
