-There are two basic models, the EA81 and EJ22 (and the EJ22 SHO variant).

“Stratus EA81”

-The company was formed as Stratus Inc. in 1992 and in 1999 the new owners changed it to Stratus 2000 Inc.

-The EA81 gives 100 HP at 5,400 rpm, weighing 185 lb.

-The EJ22, with four horizontally opposed cylinders, is also larger, giving 160 HP at 5,600 rpm with a weight of 265 lb.

From Appendix 6: Stratus Inc was founded by Reiner and Petra Hoffman in 1992, and was sold to Mykal Templeman in 1999, changing its name to Stratus 2000 Inc.

-There is a picture of the modified Subaru EA-81 in the main text.

-The Stratus EJ-22 is mentioned in the main text, but no illustration was available at the time.

-It is actually called the “EJ-22 Legacy.” It features the same mounting standard as the Lycoming Dynafocal Type I system, with the O-320/360 being directly replaceable by the Stratus EJ-22.

-It is offered in two versions:

-The one that gives 160 HP at 5,600 rpm.

-And the other is called “SHO 180” that gives 180 HP at 5,900 rpm and includes a vacuum pump for the onboard instruments.

-From the designations EJ-22 and EA-81 it can be said that they are based on Subaru engines.

From Appendix 11: Stratus 2000 Inc ended its activities in 2008.
