The Static Motor Company was founded by John W. Smith.

-Two radial engines are known from this company. A 10-cylinder and a 6-cylinder.

-The ten cylinders of the 300 hp engine were in a single row. Normally, this number of cylinders in a four-stroke radial is divided in two five-cylinder rows. Smith placed them on a single plane. For this reason the crankshaft had two bends and the connecting rods were inclined to coincide with the center of the cylinders.

-In the above picture the engine is on a bench. It has an aerodynamic brake for regularizing the rotation and creating the necessary and precise resistance for its power.

To understand the operation of the connecting rods, the 1929 Continental R 670 single-cylinder engine was chosen.

A demonstration of Version 3, improved at the author's suggestion, is also available on YouTube at a later date. This version shows bronze valve guides, improved valve spring movement, and the split crankshaft counterweights and front bearing balls also move.
