L.I. Starostin designed an experimental engine that is on display in Room 3 at the Monino Museum.
-It had the official designation of M-9, for 400 hp although it gave less. It was built around 1927.

-With eight axial cylinders and oscillating plate, it was one of the last, if not the last test of this type of engine in Russia. It had a very low compression ratio, 3:1. The most visible advantage was its size and weight lower than any other equivalent.
-It seems that starting the engine was somewhat complicated.
