Sky Dynamics is a maintenance company that modifies and “improves” (Up-rate) the engines it inspects with its own accessories and materials.
-This is the case of this Lycoming with joined rocker covers, built in aviation-grade magnesium made with CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology.
“How a Sky Dynamics engine looks like”
-The fact of having the Sky Dynamics name on the rocker covers confuses the observer into believing that it is a new brand.
-The author believes that since they are independent cylinders that can have a different expansion, it is not a good idea to join both covers.
-Even in the event that a cylinder fails and works colder and is shortened, it would create stress on those covers.
-Do not forget that Lycoming cylinders are held by their base (which is why there are hydraulic lifters to compensate for lengthening and shortening without changing the valve adjustment (the so-called “0” adjustment).
