Savoia Cars SA, in the province of Buenos Aires, built aviation engines.

-With an unbeatable appearance it is based on the Citroën 2CV and 3CV engine. Basically the one shown is based on the latter with 652 cc. It is the S42Aero model.

-This engine model delivers 42 HP at 6,000 rpm. It is air cooled forced by a fan (standard in the car) It has an oil radiator and thermostat.

-This engine has two horizontally-opposed, boxer-type cylinders. The compression is 9.5:1 and it uses 95 Oct gasoline.

-The adoption of double ignition and multipoint electronic fuel injection with programmable ECU stands out. The mixture is automatically corrected for altitude.

-It has an electric starter and alternator.

-In the rear view you can clearly see the fan of this magnificent Citroën car engine.

-The author does not recognize the rocker covers as standard for the brand, but they are prettier.

-It has toothed belt gear with tensioner. rotating counter clockwise (CCW). It is offered with three types of reduction, lowering the propeller rpm below 3,000 rpm.

From Appendix 12: Savoia made a new engine for light aviation, model S60A. It has two V-cylinders and a displacement of 800 cc. It is four-stroke with four valves per cylinder.

-The SA42A was Savoia's first model, although it now offers the SA60A for delivering more power for its weight.
