Around 1910, Sanford made light, water-cooled aviation engines in three power ratings. They were manufactured by “The Sanford Mfg. Co." from Bridgeport, Connecticut in the United States.
“Sanford 3 cylinder model”
-There were three power ranges in the offers:
-The 25-30 HP, weighing 80 lb.
-The 35-40 HP, weighing 120 lb.
-The 45-50 HP, weighing 150 lb.
-Therefore it is assumed that by increasing the weight and power, the number of cylinders increased as well.
