-Most of the engine parts are the normal Volkswagen ones and therefore they are cheap and easy to get anywhere.

-A mechanical-manual start-up located in the cockpit facilitates starting on the ground, and can be done instantly in flight when taking the propeller out of the flag position (Motorsailers like the Fournier RF-4 in the photo).

-It also serves to set the propeller horizontally while gliding, as it is generally installed on motorgliders.

-The four-cylinder, 4-stroke Rectimo 4AR1200 (VW) has an output of 39 hp at 3,600 rpm.

-It uses a Bendix magneto and a Zenith carburetor. Its potential is 850 hours, extendable to 1000 between overhauls.

-The VW 1600 was also adapted, becoming the 4AR1600 with 61 hp at takeoff.
