Horatio Phillips was an English pioneer who in 1892 already made a multiplane with a 6/8 HP steam engine of the compound type.

-This engine was used with the lifting tests of the device.

-Later in 1904, he built the Multiplane I, using a 4-cylinder, water-cooled, 22 HP engine. It is said that it was his own design.
