In 1949 this university designed a rocket engine.
-It delivered 100 lbf (445 newtons) of thrust, and ran on liquid hydrogen and oxygen. Below we see it in a diagram and running in a photograph already in 1949.
"Ohio University Engine Schematic"
-It is called regenerative as a propellant circulates through an outer jacket that cools the nozzle.
“Above mentioned engine running”
-The "diamonds" characteristic is produced by shock waves. It is currently seen in powerful combat turbojets when afterburning comes in.
