The Muncie Gear Co. was precisely in Muncie, Indiana during WWII. They manufactured a small 2-stroke engine with two horizontally-opposed cylinders for radio-controlled target drones that served for Army and Navy gunnery practice.
-The engine reference was XO-40-1 and it gave 18 HP at 3800 rpm and 20 HP at 4000 rpm. It was air cooled but the ignition was by battery and manual ignition advance.
