McDonnel made ramjets that were installed at the tips of the main rotor blades. They reached 182 m/sec. peripheral speed. Maybe the PC-42s.
“The Little John”
-McDonnell, at their Missile Propulsion Division also developed pulse jets, the McDonnell-Schmidts, (therefore of German roots).
From Appendix A4/6: The ramjet mentioned in the main text for the little Little John helicopter was the Model 8R14 of this same brand.
-The trials continued with the Big Henry, also with ramjets.

From Appendix 6: After World War II, the United States made pulse-jet powered vehicles based on V-1 principles.
-So, the Globe Firefly used an 8 inch McDonnell pulse jet, between 1946 and 1947.

-Another application of McDonnell pulse jets, but 14” was in the Boeing KDH Katydid.
“The pretty Katydid”
From Appendix 12: McDonnell made two types of target aircraft pulse jets such as the Skeet and the Katydid.
