Goodyear's small “Gizmo” helicopter was powered by marine outboards.

-The installation on several examples are already mentioned in the Mercury and Johnson chapters. Various Gizmos from around 1954 also used the 35 HP Mercury 55s on the GA-400R-1 models. The 38 HP Johnson engines on the R-2 and R-3. All of them were 2-stroke engines.

-But the GA-400R tried out the 31 HP Big Twin from Marine and Mfg outboard.
