Around 1948-1950, Aeronáutica Macchi SA from Milan, a well-known aircraft manufacturer, made a horizontally-opposed, two-cylinder engine, the 17/20 CV MB-2 (20 CV at 3,000 rpm).
-The first prototype of the Alaparma Tucano, was equipped with a 17 CV Macchi MB-2.
-The same engine with 20 CV was used on the Alaparma AM8, on the Movo FM1 Passero, and on the PR-2 Saltafossi from the Milan Polytechnic.
