From Appendix 6: Jet Propulsion Laboratory depends on Caltech (Technical Institute of California).

It is dedicated to the propulsion and the problems of astronautics, etc.

-In 1939 they did experiments with rocket engines for the Army Air Forces, to assist take off, etc.

-As one of the first activities appears the development of the WAC Corporal rocket. A rocket probe that was commissioned by the Ordnance Department of the US Government in 1944 .
