INDUSTRIAS MECANICAS DEL AIRE

(Spain)

Possibly dependent on the Spanish Air Force. At the Cuatro Vientos Museum there is an M-25 engine belonging to a Polikarpov I-16 from the Civil War. It gives 700 CV.

-This engine was restored by that entity, changing the identification plate, specifying the data mentioned in addition to "Rebuilt, year 5-44". Although it appears as a Wright engine it is a Shvetsov M-25. The plate is confusing.

From Appendix 6: The Engine at the Cuatro Vientos Museum in Madrid M-25 has a plate that shows:

Placa del motor M-25 de Shvetsov que confunde
"M-25 engine plate from Shvetsov that is confusing"

-Firstly, it mentions that it is a Wright Cyclone.

-Secondly, it shows the Spanish Air Force seal.

-Thirdly, it is clearly distinguished that it is the M-25 model.
