Already in the year 1911, Hans Holzwarth had made a pair of gas turbines of the so-called "explosion turbine" principle.

-This is recorded in the book "Die Gasturbinen, Theorie, Konstruktion und Betriebergelmische von zwei ausgefuhrten Maschinen" by one R. Oldenbourg, from Munich.

-One of those turbines is represented below.

- Interestingly, the shape of the combustion chamber we saw 35 years later in the Henschel Hs.

-The one in the illustration gave 1000 hp at 2,000-3,000 rpm.

-It was a large turbine for industrial uses, it drove a dynamo.

-But the interesting thing is that there was already the idea of gas turbines to provide work.

-That is, when the first flights were made in Germany and England, so emphasized in engine terms, their background or roots were long.

-It was just a new application.
