Two students from Washington University made the airplane that we show in the illustration below, using a marine outboard motor, with an adapted gearbox lowering its 5,000 rpm to 1,500 for the propeller.

-A better photograph with the uncovered engine shows us the mechanical arrangement, the welded tube bed, accessories and propeller.

-With four horizontally-opposed cylinders it gives 32 hp of power
