These engines are designed and built by HCI Aviation. They are two fixed radial engines intended for home-builders as an alternative to current engines that are not suitable for reproducing classic-scale aircraft, as it is difficult to locate Kinner, Viale, LeBlond, etc. HCI makes a 5 cylinder and a 7 cylinder.

HCI 5-cylinder engine

-The five-cylinder gives 75 hp at 2,150 rpm. with 180 cu. in. of displacement. It is the R-180 model. It has electronic ignition without breakers or distributor. The fuel-injection control is electronic too.

HCI 7-cylinder engine

-The seven-cylinder engine is the R-220 model that gives 123 hp at 2,500 rpm with a total displacement of 220 cu. in. Ignition and injection are equal to the 5 cylinder model.

-It has an optional starter and alternator.
