EDB Fakel was founded as a Propulsion Laboratory of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1955, and in 1962 Fakel was awarded the status of Experimental Design Bureau.

This Russian company produces plasma thrusters (Plasma Thrusters) and thermo-catalytic thrusters (Thermal catalytic thrusters)

-K50-10.1 with a thrust between 548 and 37 mN.

-K50-10.5 with a thrust between 113 and 548 mN
