DUMONT - SORIANO

(France / Spain)

DUMONT - SORIANO engine specifications

As described in the news, Santos Dumont in association with his friend Ricardo Soriano, a Spanish aristocrat, made an engine that worked with heavy oil, and its main characteristic was that it completely eliminated the danger of fire.

-The date of such engine would be around the year 1909. They also collaborated in the construction of an airplane that was tested at the Soriano estate in Salamanca, destroying itself.

-The small one on the right belongs to a device that drives normal skis to be able to ascend easily in the snowy mountains. It is a single-cylinder engine of 0.1 CV.

-The 2-cylinder is the engine referred to in this chapter. In the Archives of Aeronautical Documents at Le Bourget Museum there is a file of a Soriano aero engine. Maybe it is the same.
