DKW was a car and motorcycle manufacturer, also known as Dampf-Kraft-Wagen.

-We knew vans with three-cylinder, two-stroke engines manufactured here in the north of Spain around the 1950's.

-In the 1920's DKW engines were applied to gliders, such as the motorcycle engine that gave 1.5 CV at 3,000 rpm.

-From Dampf-Kraft-Wagen (a factory of the Auto Union group) we have received two photographs of the FL-600, the two-stroke, upright, inline, two-cylinder engine that appears drawn in the main text. It was geared, and gave 20 CV at 4,000 rpm.

-The 14 CV engine was mounted on the Erla 4A plane from 1934. It was a two-stroke engine. The Erla 5 was powered by a 20 CV engine.

-From the range of DKW motorcycle engines and its cylinders have been made the following aviation versions: the air-cooled versions give slightly less power than the water-cooled ones. This is towards 1926.

-1-cylinder with 175 cc
-1-cylinder with 206 cc

-2-cylinder with 350 cc. The air-cooled engine gave 7 CV and the water-cooled one gave 9 CV, at 3,600 rpm both.

-2-cylinder with 412 cc. The air-cooled engine gave 9 CV and the water-cooled one gave 12 CV, at 3,600 rpm both.

-2-cylinder with 500 cc. The air-cooled engine gave 10 CV and the water-cooled one gave 14 CV, at 3,600 rpm both.
