Like De Dietrich - Lorraine, this company's history dates back to 1764, when Baron De Dietrich created a steel foundry in Alsace.

-In 1896 a factory is established where cars with Lorraine engines are built.

-At the same time Lorraine also set up a factory in 1905 to produce the Lorraine engines and a little later, the first inline, 4-cylinder aero-engine appeared. It was derived from the previous vehicles.
