BRUNO VON FESTENBERG - PAKISCH engine specifications

Based in Hamburg, Bruno began with a four-cylinder radial air-cooled engine.

-The cylinder base was from a two-stroke motorcycle engine. It reached a maximum power of 40 hp.

-Later he made two air-cooled, two-stroke engines with two upright cylinders: the W.1 and W.2.

-The W.1 delivered 20 CV at 3,000 rpm with a displacement of 600 cc.

-The W.2, somewhat larger, gave 30 CV at 1,800 rpm, with 1000 cc of total displacement.

The author of this edition of Aeroengines AtoZ, through Aeroteca, collaborated on Version 2 of this video, which is presented here.

To understand the operation of the connecting rods, the 1929 Continental R 670 single-cylinder engine was chosen.

A demonstration of Version 3, improved at the author's suggestion, is also available on YouTube at a later date. This version shows bronze valve guides, improved valve spring movement, and the split crankshaft counterweights and front bearing balls also move.
