The Jeff Bezos Foundation has entered the space race in competition with SpaceX and Virgin Galactic. His Shepard space ship will be driven by a carrier with own rocket engines, BE-3.

-The BE-3 engines use LOX and liquid hydrogen, delivering a thrust of 110,000 lbf.

-The BE-3 engine has adjustable thrust between 20,000 lbf and 110,000 lbf maximum. They are  currently working on the BE-4 with 550,000 lbf. of thrust, which is 5 times the BE-3's thrust.

-The BE-4 uses LOX and LNG ie. Liquefied Natural Gas. The Jeff Bezos Foundation collaborates with Lockheed-Martin and Boeing through the United Launch Alliance.

-They are collaborating with ULA, United Launch Alliance (see). Bezos is involved in other projects such as Blue Origin, Centaur, SpaceX, Virgin Galactic.
