Austin Motors Company built the Sunbeam Arab-I at the end of the Great War and shortly before the RAF.1A.

-They revised the OS.5 engines for the Curtiss aircraft that were operating in England, contracted by the government of that country.

-By 1914 they produced 100 hp Curtiss engines under license.

-It was a V-8 engine that reached 160 hp at 1,800 rpm.

-By 1915, Austin designed a V-12 and also a rotary engine.

From appendix A1/6: We are going to know more details of this brand, like this V-12 from 1920.

-It had a characteristic that was not seen in any other engine of that time: At the rear we see a small twin ABC engine that was used for starting. It gave 250 hp.
